KCB Rugby maintained their flawless start to the season with a hard-fought 20-12 victory over Nakuru RFC at Nakuru Athletic Club.
However, despite the win, the Bankers fell short of securing a crucial bonus point. They now move to 29 points in Kenya Cup.
Heading into the match, KCB were determined to extend their undefeated streak, having secured bonus points in all five of their previous matches.

Nakuru RFC, on the other hand, had faced consecutive losses in their recent encounters but aimed to upset the high-flying Bankers.
Nakuru made an early statement by grabbing a seven-pointer, putting KCB on the back foot. The Bankers responded with a try from Kenya Under 20 player Andy Cole Omollo, and Darwin Mukidza minutes later added three points from a penalty, allowing KCB to head into halftime with a slim one-point lead.

In the second half, fly-half Brian Wahinya extended KCB’s lead with a try that went unconverted, making it 13-7. Kenya 7s player Festus Shiai, coming off the bench, landed the third try, it was converted successfully, securing a 20-7 lead for KCB.
Nakuru RFC managed to score a try, bringing them to a total of 12 points. However, a missed conversion denied them the bonus point.
