Menengai head coach Gibson Weru has named the side that will be taking place in the seventh Nakuru derby that will be going down in Nakuru Athletic Club.

The coach has only made one change to the team that played the last Kenya Cup game last year against varsity side Strathmore Leos.

Menengai Oilers pack

Celestine Mboi maintains his starting position in the front row for the fourth time this season and he starts as the loosehead prop after having a fine run since the beginning of the season.

On the tight head, we have Vincent Mwikhali while Emmanuel Mulla comes in as the hooker.  The second rows sees captain Ibrahim Ayoo locking with Clinton Odhiambo.

Jadah Abdon is the blind side flanker with Chrispine Shitundo being the open side flanker. The number eight jersey will be donned by Samuel Were.

Veteran Samson Onsomu is the scrumhalf with Abutwalib Wesonga coming in at fly-half. On the wings, we will see Beldad Ogeta taking the left wing with Alvin Khavoli being the right winger.

The midfield sees Johnstone Mung’au coming in the place of John Okoth who is out on national duty with the Shujaa. Dennis Abukuse is the outside centre. Davis Nyaundi will be the fullback.

Samuel Mwaura who moved to Oilers in January from Nakuru RFC will be hoping for a cameo appearance off the bench. In the last three derbies, Nakuru have failed to win at Nakuru Athletics Club and will be keen to break the jinx.
