Kenya 7s technical bench has named the squad that will be on duty in the opening round of the Challenger Series in Dubai.
George Oroo who missed the Safari 7s tournament in November is back in the 12-man squad with Herman Humwa dropping out.
Mutugi in Kenya 7s final squad
Brian Mutugi who impressed on his debut in the Safari 7s has made the cut and joins Festus Shiasi, Samuel Asati, Patrick Odongo, William Mwanji, and Nygel Amaista.
John Okoth, Kevin Wekesa and George Ooro have been retained from last season squad and will be captained by Vincent Onyala and Tony Omondi.
The team is expected to travel to Dubai on Monday 8 January, at 4 pm on board Emirates EK 709.
Kenya 7s are in Pool C for the opening round of the World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024 at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai on 12-14 January.

They have been pooled alongside Germany, Uganda and Mexico. Pool A has Uruguay, Hong Kong China, Papua New Guinea, and Georgia while Pool B consists of Japan, Tonga, Chile and Portugal.
The HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024 will take place in three rounds on three continents between January and May, providing a clear promotion pathway to reach the pinnacle of HSBC SVNS in 2025.
The top four placed men’s and women’s World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger 2024 teams, based on cumulative series points after the third round, will secure their opportunity to compete in the new high-stakes promotion and relegation play-off competition at the SVNS Grand Final in Madrid on 31 May – 2 June 2024 against the teams ranked ninth to 12th from HSBC SVNS 2024.
