After an action-packed three rounds of the Kenya Cup, Menengai Oilers’ winger Beldad Ogeta and Kabras’ back Derrick Ashihundu have emerged as the leading top try-scorers, each boasting six tries.
Ogeta showcased his scoring prowess with two tries in the opening match, a hat trick against Mwamba, and another try against Strathmore Leos in the final match of 2023.

Ashihundu, on the other hand, made a statement with four tries against Kisumu RFC in the first match, maintained his momentum, and reached six tries, even after a scoreless outing against Nondies. His impact off the bench against Catholic Monks secured his position at the top of the try-scoring charts.

Kabras captain George Nyambua, with an impressive five tries, had a brace on the first matchday and a hat trick against Nondies. KCB’s Festus Shiasi has also joined the five-try club, ensuring a tight competition among the top try-scorers.
In the points-scoring department, Kabras RFC’s Ntabeni Dukisa leads with 34 points, all from successful conversions. He sits four points ahead of Austin Sikutwa, Ogeta, and Ashihundu.
As the Kenya Cup season takes a break for the festive season, rugby enthusiasts eagerly await the exciting action to resume in January.
