Former Kenya Cup side Kisii RFC who are currently playing in the nation wide have new coach ahead of the resumption of new season.
The side settled on fast rising coach Lee Arstone to take charge and will be assisted by Edward Sokoine.
The two played for Western Bulls together back in the days.
About Lee Arstone
Arstone who in his playing days turned out for Western Bulls and Kisii RFC before retiring prematurely due to a career ending injury is the one tasked with leading the side to seeking a championship promotion.
The Youthful coach has made a name for himself after propelling Kisii School to their maiden KSSSA 15s national games in Eldoret after making them force in Nyanza region.
Speaking to the Scrummage Africa, Arstone expressed gratitude.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to further my coaching career. I would like to thank the club’s management for entrusting me with this role,” Arstone said.
“It is a daunting task that I will give it my all.”

Sokoine is known for grooming the likes of Samuel Asati at Cardinal Otunga, other players he has nurtured include Patrick Odongo, David Bunduki and Edwin Nyachio . He will be assisting Arstone in coaching taking the assistant coach and backs coach.
Also named in coaching department is former Kisii RFC backrower Geoffrey Okioga taking the strength and conditioning coach.
On his targets and goals with the club, a hopefull Arstone said he is aiming on trying to return the club where it belonged.
“Kisii RFC has been out of the map since COVID hit the country. We are trying to revive it and take the team back to championship before we eventually take it to the Kenya Cup. We have had a good pre season and we are hoping that this will reflect in the coming season and make a cut in the playoffs.” said Arstone.
Confidence in management
Bob Onchong’a the Team Manager speaking to the Scrummage expressed confidence in the new management,
“This season, we have welcomed new players from both Kisii University and Kisii Polytechnic. Alongside this, we’ve introduced a new captain, a new technical bench, and a new chairman. Since August, we’ve been engaged in preseason preparations, and I am confident that the team is fully prepared. We’ve undertaken two preseason tests, participating in the Homabay 10s and facing UOE at the Varsity Cup. The technical bench has diligently addressed certain issues that we aim to evaluate during this upcoming game. I eagerly anticipate the match and hope our opponents honor it, although they had requested a postponement, indicating some signs of apprehension.” said Onchong’a.
The team unveiled the full leadership to propell the team in the coming season.
