Sigalagala showcased their dominance with a commanding 47-12 victory over Mbale at the Kakamega Showground to reach the Lake Victoria 15s semis.
It was Sam Bachai from Sigalagala who opened the scoring with a well-executed penalty kick, giving his team an early lead. However, Mbale’s Samuel Odinga responded in kind with an impressive long-range penalty kick, levelling the score at 3-3.
Sigalagala first try
Sigalagala then demonstrated their attacking prowess as captain Brill Benjamin managed to break through Mbale’s defence, scoring a crucial try. Unfortunately, Webster Kidaha was unable to convert the try into extra points. Undeterred, Odinga of Mbale added to their tally with another successful penalty kick.
Eugine Ayimba of Sigalagala forced his way through the opposition’s defence, scoring an important try for his team after a scrum. Kidaha made sure to convert it, adding the extra points to their score.
Benjamin made a skilful pass that led to a try by Collins Wakoli. Donald Litali was on target with the conversion, extending Sigalagala’s lead.

Benjamin once again demonstrated his scoring ability by penetrating the defence, adding more points for Sigalagala. However, Litali missed the conversion attempt. The first half concluded with Sigalagala leading by a significant margin, with a halftime score of Sigalagala 25-6 Mbale.

The second half brought more excitement as it took just 15 minutes for Alex Tirimba to make his mark on the scoreboard, further increasing Sigalagala’s lead. Benjamin continued his excellent performance by converting the try.
Mbale responded with a penalty from Emmanuel Odinga, but Sigalagala quickly countered with a try from Buchai, although Brill failed to convert this time.
Benjamin showcased his all-around skills by adding to his try tally and successfully converting in the last minute of the game, sealing a dominant 47-12 victory for Sigalagala.
