South Coast Pirates appointed John Carlos Obukui as their Strength and Conditioning coach as the club gears up for the upcoming season and its quest for promotion to the Kenya Cup.
Obukui, who previously was a part of the playing unit, now takes on the new role. He brings valuable experience and expertise to the team, holding a Level I SnC license and having been an alumnus of Kaya Tiwi High School. Assisting him in this role will be David Watico.

Expressing his gratitude for this opportunity, Obukui emphasized that he sees it as a privilege to take on this role. He is enthusiastic about the prospect of getting the players into prime physical condition as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season.
“It’s a great privilege to be given this mandate, I feel happy and looking forward to put the boys into good shape to compete,” he told the club’s media.
The club has appointed Robert Magande as the Team Manager who comes in as a replacement for Zuga Habweri who held the role last season. Habweri.
Scrummage Africa’s Brian Mwenje will also be part of the team, having taken up the role of the club’s media liaison.

South Coast Pirates have made signings bringing in utility back Brighton Omondi ‘Zangi’ from TUM Marines RFC. He became their sixth signing and has previously turned out for Kisumu RFC. An alumnus of St Mary’s School, Yala is a third-year Bachelor of Sociology student at the Technical University of Mombasa.
The pirates have signed James Ainea from Nationwide side TUM Marines and Utility forward Mohamed Hajj.
Hooker Sospeter Rofino has alos joined the club from Kenya Harlequins RFC on a five-year contract.
On Thursday, the club unveiled two new signings. The club announced the signing of former Kabras RFC and Kenya Harlequin back Kelly Akengo.
Akengo who has also played for MMUST and Jinja Hippos joined the club from Kabete Stallions RFC while Mikey Odhiambo joined as a lock from Kisumu RFC.
