Kenya 7s are through to the Africa Men’s 7s/ Olympic Qualifiers semi-final after a 26-0 win over Burkina Faso in a quarters played at Harare Sports Club.
Shujaa came to this match after an impressive run on day one where they beat Namibia, Zambia and Nigeria.
Kenya 7s open up
After two minutes of play, a Burkina Faso player was yellow-carded following a tap on the ball. Kenya made the one-man advantage and off the scrum, the ball was channelled to the left to find speedster Patrick Odongo for the opener.
The second try saw John Okoth break at the centre and scored for a converted try for a 12-0 lead at the break.
In the final half, Shujaa scored through Okoth off a ruck for a 19-0.
Shujaa ran the ball to the left to feed Kevin Wekesa while Beldad Ogeta came on and benefited from an offload to take the scores to 26-0. Kenya will face the winner of Zimbabwe Madagascar match.
