The Western Region Schools 15s competition has entered its semi-final stage after the completion of the group stage matches at Mundika High School in Busia.
Four teams have been eliminated, and four remain in contention for the title.
Vihiga High School, the National Prescott Cup Champions, emerged as the winners of Pool A after a convincing victory over Kimobo.
This result followed their triumph over Kakamega on Thursday and a draw against Butula. In the semi-finals, they will face Kolanya, who finished second in Pool B after losing to Koyonzo in their final group stage match.
In the other semi-final, Koyonzo, who won all their group stage matches, will face Butula Boys in what promises to be an exciting contest.
Koyonzo’s dominant display saw them defeat Kolanya 42-6 in their final group match, boosting their confidence of clinching their first regional 15s title.
Butula Boys knocked out the defending national and regional champions, Kakamega School, in the group stage with a 26-5 victory. Kakamega had lost 15-3 to Vihiga in their previous match, leading to their elimination from the competition.
