Kenya Cup defending Champions Kabras RFC have made five changes ahead of the final against KCB Rugby scheduled for Saturday 11 March 2023 at Kakamega Showground.
Kenya 7s forward Kevin Wekesa will be making his third appearance of the season and leading the squad as captain, taking the starting spot from regular captain George Nyambua, who will be on the bench. Meanwhile, Dan Sikuta will continue to play on the right flank, and outstandings Jeanson Musoga will remain at number eight.
Two changes in the front row
There will be changes in the second row as Eliphaz Emong joins Brian Juma, while Hillary Odhiambo will be on the bench. The front row, however, remains the same with Ephriam Oduor, Eugene Sifuna, and Hillary Mwanjila starting.
In a surprising move, coach Carlos Katywa has brought in Brian Tanga from National Team duty to play fly-half, pushing Ntabeni Dukisa to fullback. Dan Angwech will also return at scrum-half, with Barry Robinson moving to the bench.
The midfield will remain unchanged, with Walter Okoth and Bryceson Adaka partnering, while Dukisa and Mathias Osimbo will join the back three, replacing Jone Kubu and Lameck Ambetsa, who will be on the bench.
Teddy Akala, Emmanuel Otieno, and Asuman Mugerwa are other key names on the bench.
Their ESS team that will face KCB II in Nairobi in the ESS final has already been named.
