Nakuru RFC finished the Kenya Cup season with a flourish, securing their third consecutive win with a 26-12 victory over Catholic Monks at Catholic University Grounds.
Wanyore came into the match brimming with confidence following wins over MMUST and Homeboyz, and were eager to claim their fifth win of the season.
Eric Ogutu opened the scoring for Monks within the first two minutes, but Nakuru responded quickly with a try from captain Amos Obae, converted by Javan Otieno, to take a 7-5 lead.
Obae added another try just before halftime, with Otieno converting again to give Nakuru a 14-5 advantage at the break.
In the second half, Samuel Owino scored to bring Monks level after a successful conversion, but Nakuru’s Obae and Brian Njuguna added two more tries to secure a comfortable 26-12 win.
Meanwhile, at Jamhuri Grounds, Blak Blad finished their season on a high with a 36-24 victory over Homeboyz. With six wins to their name, Blad ended the season on a positive note, while Homeboyz suffered their sixth consecutive defeat.
