Kisii High School emerged victorious in a tightly contested Amadi 15s final against Vihiga High School, held at Maseno School.
The match was a repeat of the 2022 Prescott Cup National 15s tournament, where Vihiga High School had won 28-8 at the RFUEA Grounds.
However, this time around, Kisii High School managed to secure a 6-0 win, marking a significant reversal of fortunes for the team.
Despite the lack of tries in the match, the game was intense, with both teams displaying impressive skills and strategies. Edwin Omari, managed to drill in two penalties that handed his team the victory.
While Vihiga High School dominated possession, Kisii’s defence was simply impenetrable, making it difficult for their opponents to score any points.
Kisii High School’s road to the final was impressive. The team was unbeaten throughout the tournament, having won all six matches played.
In the semifinals, Kisii High School beat Kamusinga by a resounding 34-0 scoreline, showcasing their offensive prowess.
The team’s coach, Lee Arstone Shisikani, was delighted with his team’s performance, especially their defensive efforts in the final.
“It is a good performance by the boys, mainly on defence, since we played without the ball for long. We played vihiga in the National Prescott cup last year and they beat us 28-8 and we have been working hard on the margin against a tough Vihiga side,” Shisikani told the Scrummage Africa.
