KCB II edge Kabras RFC II to stay unbeaten in ESS

KCB rugby II ended Kabras II unbeaten winning streak in the Eric Shirley Shield after a narrow 17-13 win at KCB Sports Club.

The two teams went to this encounter seperated by a point having won all their nine matches in the ESS.

The first score of the game was made by Kabras when Flavian Otiyo broke through the hosts’ defence and scored a try that was converted, giving them a 7-0 lead. Kabras later received a card from the referee and were reduced to one man. Despite this disadvantage, they prevented KCB from scoring before the end of the first half.

In the second half, KCB started strongly and scored an unconverted try through Billy Omondi. Kabras responded with a try, but it was disallowed by the referee.

KCB then committed an infringement, allowing Kabras to earn three points through Duncan Abuyeka. Felix Bukhutse, received a card and was sent to the sin bin and with the numerical advantage, KCB scored another try through Max Kangeri, taking the lead at 12-10 after Smith Muhoya’s concversion.

Kabras managed to score another penalty to bring the score to 13-12.

In the end, KCB scored the last try of the match via Bramwel Omondi, making the final score 17-13 in their favor as the referee blew the final whistle.
