They secured a 22-17 win against South Coast Pirates, which earned them four points and moved their total to 43. They now only need two more points to secure the top spot.
Daystar Falcons rose to second place on the standings with 34 points after outplaying the former Kenya Cup side Western Bulls, securing a 51-5 win.
Kisumu RFC continued their pursuit of promotion with a 34-6 victory over Kabarak, moving them to third place on the standings with 31 points.
South Coast Pirates dropped to fourth place after their loss to the Nondies, but managed to secure a crucial point, bringing their total to 30.
Impala Saracens kept their hopes of returning to the top tier alive with a maximum-point win over Shamas Foundation, 64-5. The Gazelles have 25 points and will hope to win the final two to reach the semis.
Kabarak University holds 22 points, while UoE Trojans have moved up to 17 points. Shamas and Western Bulls are tied at 15 points, and USIU moved out of the relegation zone after a convincing win over Eldoret.
