Kenya 7s secured a spot in the ninth-place playoffs at the Hamilton 7s tournament after defeating Tonga 33-19 in the semifinals at FMG Stadium.
Shujaa will play again on Sunday against the winner of the Samoa vs Great Britain match.

The team was determined to earn maximum points in the ninth-place category after falling short of reaching the quarters.
The match began with a quick try from Alvin Otieno, followed by a conversion from Anthony Omondi for a 7-0 lead. Tonga responded with a try from Kyren Taumoefolau to tie the score at 7-7.
Shujaa regained the lead with a try from captain Nelson Oyoo and another from Edmund Anya, leading 19-7 at halftime.
In the second half, Oyoo scored his second try and John Ika scored for Tonga, while George Ooro Angeyo sealed the win for Kenya 7s with his second try of the series.
Sioeli Filimoehala late try in the final minutes of the clash was reduced to a consolation.
