Kabras RFC II and KCB II collected massive wins in the Eric Shirley Shield matches played on Saturday.
In Kakamega, Kabras pummeled Blad 88-17 Kabras RFC II took an early lead in the match with a try by Hillary Salano, but were unable to convert it for an additional point, making the score 5-0. Flavian Otiyo then scored a try for the Sugarmen but they also failed to convert it, bringing the score to 10-0 with six minutes played.
Blad II then earned a three-point penalty kick to trim the score by seven points. Duncan Abuyeka and Hillary Salano worked together to score the third try for Kabras with Salano touching down while Abuyeka successfully converted it, increasing their lead to 17-3 over Blad.
Blak Blad then scored their first try of the match, but their conversion attempt was unsuccessful, making the score 17-8 in favor of the hosts.
Abuyeka returned to the scoresheet with a try and successfully converted it, bringing the score to 24-8 before he converted Felix Bukutse’s try for a 31-8.
The former Nakur RFC man drilled in conversions for tries from Jacktone Osoo and Humphrey Asirikwa bringing the score to 45-8.
The eighth try of the half was scored by Biden, who picked it up from the 8th man play, but Abuyeka was unable to convert the two-point conversion. The hosts would take a 50-8 lead to the break.
Blak Blad II scored a penalty kick at the start of the second half while Kabras widened the gap with tries by Malik Habil, Samuel Wafula and Shem Anguyo were all converted by Abuyeka for a 71-11 lead.
David Williams, Anguyo’s second try and Fortune Arturo ensured an 88-17 win.
KCB Rugby had a 72-10 win over Strathmore Loes while Kenya Harlequin thrashed Homeboyz 32-15. Other matches saw walkovers dished out.
