Oilers make seven changes ahead of Homeboyz date

Menengai Oilers head coach Gibson Weru has rejigged his side that won against MMUST last weekend, ahead of their fourth Kenya Cup tie of the season against Homeboyz RFC on Saturday 17 at Jamhuri Grounds, Nairobi.

The tactician has made seven changes to the team, with five of the changes being in the pack while the backs department sees two changes.

In the front row, only Vincent Mwikali retains his spot at tighthead prop and is joined by incoming Francis Atiti and Hillary Malweyi. The second row sees a complete overhaul as Miheso and Clinton Odhiambo are brought into the fold to replace Ibrahim Ayoo and Wallace Ochieng. The back row sees one change, Nickson Ochieng replacing Tyson Maina to join Brian Ndirangu and skipper Chrispin Shitundo.

The halfback department has also been fully rejigged, with Andrew Odero and Gift coming in to replace Sam Onsomu and Geoffrey Ominde.

Timothy Omela leads the attack at blind wing with Steve Arung shifting from centre to occupy his opposite spot at open wing. Austin Sikutwa pairs John Okoth at midfield, with Davis Nyaundi continuing his show at full-back.

Ominde, Ochieng and Desterius Ifedha are among those named on the bench.

Oilers will be seeking to maintain a perfect run against a tough Homeboyz side who have opened the Kenya Cup season on a high.

The Gibu-led side will be keen to pick maximum points to keep in touch with KCB and Kabras who hold the two top positions on the log.
