Match officials for African 2023 RWC qualifiers confirmed

 Match Official for the Rugby Africa Cup 15s matches scheduled for 1-10 July 2022 in France have been confirmed by World Rugby.

The match will serve as the qualification route for the 2023 Rugby World Cup slated for France.

The opening quarterfinal match pitting Namibia and Burkina Faso will be officiated by Senegalese International Sylvian Mane.  Zimbabweans Precious Pazani and Talent Gandiwa are set to serve as the assistant referees with Frenchman Denis Grenouillet tasked with Television Match Official role.

Vivien Praderie will ref the Zimbabwe Sables- Ivory Coast Match and will have Aymen Jriji and Kenyan Victor Oduor Ojuku as his assistants.

Ludovic Cayre has been handed the centre referee role in the Senegal-Algeria match.  Namibian International Nicardo Pienaar and Kenyan referee Ojuku will be assistant referees. Philippe Bonhoure is the TMO.

Englishman Anthony Woodthorpe will be in charge of the Eastern African Derby between Kenya Simbas and Uganda Cranes. Mane and Jriji will the assistant referee.

Four teams will proceed to the semis of competiton slated for 6 July 2022.

The winner of the eight-team knockout competition will represent Africa at the RWC2023, which will be held in France 14 months later. The finalists will fight for the final slot at the Repechage matches,

The winner will be in Pool A, which consists of New Zealand, France, Italy, and Uruguay.
