Despite Kenya 7s struggling once again at the Toulouse 7s,  duo Bush Mwale and Billy Odhiambo are among the top six impact players in the just-concluded event.

Mwale was ranked third behind DHL Impact Player of the tournament Terry Kennedy who had 66 points and USA’ s Kevon Williams who managed 55 points.  Mwale managed 54 points after six tackles, two-line breaks, 10 offloads and 22 carries in the three-day tournament.

Lucas Lacamp and Billy Odhiambo were tied on 52 points each. Odhiambo had five tackles, three line breaks, six offloads and 26 carries. Odhiamb0 is ranked sixth overall on the 2022 World 7s Series Impact players list with 272 points following 52 tackles, 14 line breaks, 23 offloads and 132 carries in this campaign

France’s Paulin Riva closes the top six with 50 points. Pilipo Bukayaro, Luciano Gonzalez and Joachim Trouabal are in the top 10.

The DHL Impact player performance tracker is meant to recognize players who make impact in all areas of the game.

The DHL Impact Player Table recognises such moments using a statistical analysis of individual players’ performances measured against four key criteria – Off-Loads, Carries, Line-breaks and Tackles.

On execution of these skills during a match, points are awarded  – Offloads 2 points, Tackles 1 point, Line Breaks 3 points, Carries 1 point – to create a total score which is tracked through the DHL Performance Tracker.

A winner is announced at the end of each individual tournament and the overall series winner is judged across all 10 legs for Men’s and all 8 for the Women’s.
