National 7s Circuit defending KCB Rugby, Menengai Oilers, Homeboyz and Strathmore Leos have booked places in the Kabeberi 7s semi-final following wins in their respective quarters played at RFUEA Grounds.
KCB booked a place in the semis after seeing off Kabeberi 7s holders and hosts Mwamba. To knock out Mwamba, the bankers won 14-5. Dennis Mwanja charges scored the opening try of the match through Levy Amunga and Michael Wanjala added the extras for a 7-0 lead.
The side would double the lead thanks to a penalty try that stretched the lead to 14-0. Mwamba managed a late try in the closing half but could not stop KCB.
Menengai Oilers scored two tries in each half to beat their home town rivals Nakuru RFC 26-5 in the second quarter. Oilers converted one of their two tries in the first stanza for 12-5 at halftime. In the second half, they scored two converted tries and did not concede to reach the last four.
Strathmore Leos blanked MMUST 32-0 to reach the semis and they will face Homeboyz who defeated Daystar 34-7 to qualify for the semis.
In the fifth place semis, Mwamba will play Nakuru RFC as MMUST take Daystar Falcons.
Challenge Trophy Semis
Kabras RFC will play in the Blak Blad in the first Challenge trophy semi-final while Western Bulls will tackle Kenya Harlequin.
Kabras RFC proceeded to the semis after a resounding 53-0 win over Mean Machine in the first match of the day. Western Bulls also picked the first win of the competition after scoring three converted tries to beat Nondies 21-10
