NATIONAL SEVENS CIRCUIT

Another change made on 2022 National 7s Circuit schedule

Another change has been made on the upcoming 2022 National 7s Circuit schedule which is expected to kick off next weekend.

Kenya Rugby Union has announced that Kakamega 7s which was originally scheduled for 11/12 June at the Bull Ring will now be the final leg of the National 7s Circuit.  The event will now take place on 16/17 July 2022.

“The Kenya Rugby Union has made a change to the National Sevens Circuit order of tournaments. The Kakamega 7s, originally slated as the third leg of the circuit will serve as the season-ender, taking place on 16th/17th July in Kakamega,” reads a statement by KRU.

The change has been made to allow KRU host the Currie Cup Nairobi Series matches pitting Kenya Simbas and Leopards on 4 June 2022 and Eastern Province Elephants on 11 June 2022 at RFUEA Grounds.

There are no further changes to the schedule with the campaign set to kick off with Mwamba Rugby Club hosting the George Mwangi Kabeberi 7s on 21/22 May 2022 at RFUEA Grounds. Teams will  return to RFUEA Grounds for the Christie 7s on 28-29 May.

The clubs will then make a stop over in Mombasa for the Driftwood 7s scheduled for Mombasa Sport Club.

A one week break will follow before the teams head for Dala 7s at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium and Prinsloo in Nakuru. They will later finish their campaign in Kakamega in July.
