Kabras Sugar RFC and KCB Rugby will meet in the finals of Dala 7s tourney after overcoming their opponents in the semis.
Main Cup Semis
Kabras Sugar made a come-from-behind in the win 15-14 against Kenya Harlequins. Quins were first to score through Amon Wamalwa which Osino converted for a 7-0 lead.
Kabras were quick to respond through Kevin Wekesa for a 7-5 score. Quins scored another try moments later when Dave Mwaura went over to extend their lead to 14-5.
Mathias Osimbo would cut the deficit as he scored Kabras’ second try. The conversion attempt went wide. Kevin Wekesa would land the final blow for Quins when he went over for Kabras final try thanks to good work from Lameck Ambetsa.
KCB RFC were too strong for Strathmore Leos in the second semi defeating the students 33-0. Vincent Onyala scored a brace as Brian Wahinya and Elvis Olukusi had a piece each. Brian Wahinya slotted three of the conversions.
5th Place Semis
Mwamba RFC will play Menengai Oilers in the 5th Place finals. Mwamba were 12-0 victorious over Nakuru RFC in the first semifinal. Menengai Oilers on the other hand dug deep to fend off Homeboyz in a 19-14 win. The men from Nakuru went over three times, converting two of the three tries. Homeboyz managed only two converted tries.
Challenge Trophy Semis
Nondies overcame Daystar Falcons 14-5 in the first semifinal. They scored two converted tries with Falcons managing to cross-over once. On the second semi, Kisumu RFC three unconverted tries was enough to send them to challenge trophy finals. They defeated Catholic Monks 15-12.
13th Place Semis
Western Bulls and Masinde Muliro University will meet in the 13th place finals after succesfully defeating their opponents. Western Bulls defeated Mombasa RFC 31-12 as Masinde Muliro ran riot in a 46-0 win over Makueni RFC.
