Strathmore Leos, KCB RFC pick maximum points in Dala 7s day one

Strathmore Leos, KCB RFC and Mwamba were clinical on day one picking the available 9 points to head their respective pools in which is being held at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Kisumu.

Pool A

Nakuru picked their second win of the campaign edging out their cross-town foes Menengai Oilers 12-7. Bildad Ogeta scored for Oilers with Abukuse adding the extras in what was their only try of the game.

Nakuru scored two tries, converting one for a 12-7 win, a win that sees them top pool A despite starting their campaign on a low.

Both teams have however secured their places in the cup quarters slated for Sunday, July 2. Nondies pummeled their counterparts Catholic Monks 24-0 but the win couldn’t salvage them a cup quarter appearance.

Pool B

KCB managed to pick maximum points in day one as they defeated Kenya Harlequins 12-7 in their last game of the day. They finished on top of their pool as Quins came second. MMUST failed to pick a win in day one as they went down 14-10 to Mombasa in their final game of the day.

Pool C

Strathmore Leos too picked maximum points as they saw off Kabras Sugar RFC 20-7. Hosts Kisumu RFC posted their first win of the weekend after defeating Daystar Falcons 14-12. Both Kisumu and Daystar Falcons have however been relegated to challenge trophy quarters slated for Sunday, July 2 as the Leos and Kabras RFC sail through to cup quarters.
