The eagerly anticipated Embu 7s tournament is set to take place on the 10th and 11th of June at the Njukiri Showgrounds.
The tournament will feature several top-tier rugby teams, with participants eyeing it as a valuable opportunity to prepare for the upcoming National 7s Circuit.
Defending champions, the Strathmore Leos, will headline Pool A alongside Meru RFC, Kabarak University, and Kabete Stallions. The Leos claimed the title in 2022 after a thrilling victory over the defending champions Menengai Oilers in the final, winning by a score of 19-12.
Pool B will see Menengai Cream, Kirinyaga Stallions, Northern Suburbs, and NYS Spades battle it out for a chance to progress further in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Pool C will feature Masinde Muliro, Rongai Morans, Nondies, and Mwea Eagles, adding to the fierce competition.
In Pool D, Nakuru RFC, Embu RFC, Presbyterian University, and Strathmore second-string side Catullus will vie for supremacy, while Pool E will showcase the talents of Catholic Monks, Administration Police, Chuka Vikings, and Menengai Zuri, Oilers second-string side.
The Embu 7s tournament serves as a crucial platform for teams to fine-tune their strategies and showcase their skills ahead of the highly anticipated National 7s Circuit.
