Kenya Harlequin unbeaten run in 2023 continued as they picked a 22-11 win over Mwamba RFC in a Kenya Cup match played at RFUEA Grounds.

The win has seen Quins condemn Kulabu to five straight losses and put them a step closer to the Cup semis after securing their seventh consecutive win.

Mwamba managed to score a penalty through Michael Ochieng, but their lead was soon cancelled out by a try from Richel Wangila, which was converted by Henry Ayah to give Quins a 7-3 lead. However, Mwamba took a slim lead to halftime thanks to a try from winger Chrispin Omondi, which made the score 8-7 in their favor.

In the second half, Quins dominated the game and Wangila scored his second try of the day, which was converted by Ayah to give them a 14-8 lead. The two teams then exchanged penalties, with Ayah and Brian Kivasia scoring to change the scoreline to 17-11.

Quins’ Brian Ratillah came off the bench to score a try, denying Mwamba a losing bonus point. The win sees Quins move to 32 points.
