The Kenya Cup match between KCB Rugby and Strathmore Leos will be referred to as the “Jerry Olola Di Baddest Cup” in honor of the forward who played for both teams before his untimely death.
The teams have decided to rename the fixture as a way to honor Olola’s memory and pay tribute to his contributions to both teams. Olola passed away in June 2022 while in the hospital receiving treatment for body and toothache.
“When we lost Olola Jerry “Di baddest” (RIP) , the players agreed that every time KCB lions play Strathmore Leos it will be known as “Di Baddest” cup in honor of the fallen brother who played his last rugby days for the two clubs,” KCB announced.
“Well this Saturday, come watch di baddest coaches, di baddest players battling out for Di Baddest cup. This is for you Olola Di baddest,” the statement further reads.
