Allan Otim, in his first assignment as caretaker head coach of the Uganda 7s men’s team, has named a 12-man squad for the 2025 Safari 7s featuring five debutants set to make their first appearance for the Rugby Cranes 7s in Nairobi.
Julius Oyuk, Shakim Ssembusi, Ivan Bulima, Fat Moses Watmon, and Jeremiah Ojambo have earned their call-ups after outstanding performances in the 2025 Uganda National 7s Series.
Ssembusi, who already played for the Rugby Cranes 15s in 2023, will now debut in the shorter format.
Oyuk, one of Heathens’ most improved forwards, returns to national duty after his stint with the U20s in the Barthes Cup.
Ojambo and Watmon bring size and energy, attributes Uganda has been craving in the 7s setup.
