Mwamba RFC staged a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Impala RFC 17-12 in sudden death and clinch the Kabeberi 7s and 2025 National 7s Circuit women’s title at RFUEA Grounds.
They end the campaign with 88 points having bagged maximum points in all the four tournaments.
For Impala, it was their first final appearance of the season, while Mwamba continued their dominance in the women’s circuit, adding to their Prinsloo 7s and Embu 7s triumphs. They now have three titles in as many outings.
Mwamba RFC concede early
Impala started brightly, capitalising on early pressure to score the opening try from a ruck deep in Mwamba’s territory, which was converted for a 7-0 lead.
The Roans kept momentum on their side, with Knight Otuoma crossing the whitewash to extend their advantage to 12-0 at halftime.

Mwamba, however, roared back into the contest after the restart. Naomi Amuguni scored from a quick tap penalty to reduce the deficit.
Mwamba survive
Impala thought they had extended their lead with another try, but it was disallowed.
Amuguni responded striking again with a centre-post try after outpacing her marker, which was converted to level the scores at 12-12 at full time.
With the match forced into extra time, Mwamba’s resilience paid off. Off an Impala kick, Edith Nariaka spotted a gap, sold a dummy, and finished off a brilliant counterattack to seal a thrilling 17-12 victory for Mwamba.
Northern Suburbs settled for the second place in the overall tournament while Kenya Harlequin settled for the third place.
