Uganda 7s head coach Tolbert Onyango has named his squad for the upcoming Africa Men’s 7s tournament set to take place at Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mauritius on June 21 and 22.
The coach has largely retained the squad that lifted the Kampala 7s title, with only one change. Patrick Okello misses out, making way for Alex Aturinda, who will also captain the side. Nobert Okeny has been named vice-captain.

This year’s tournament carries added significance, with the top two teams excluding core sides Kenya and South Africa set to earn promotion to the HSBC SVNS Division 3.
In the previous edition held across two weekends, on June 29 and 30 and July 6 and 7 in 2024, Uganda emerged as overall champions under a series-based points system.
They will be looking to defend their crown in Mauritius.
