The 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup concluded on Sunday, June 15, with the final standings confirming South Africa Women as the top side after a dominant campaign in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The four-nation tournament brought together South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, and hosts Madagascar for three rounds of action-packed rugby played in a round-robin format.

Rugby Africa Women’s Cup Top Position

South Africa Women finished top of the table with 14 points, winning all three matches. Their campaign included a 62–7 win over Uganda, a tight 19–12 victory over Kenya, and a 61–17 triumph over Madagascar. They scored a total of 142 points and conceded just 36, ending with a tournament-best +106 point difference.

Kenya Lionesses secured second place with 11 points. They opened with a 28–5 win over Madagascar, narrowly lost 19–12 to South Africa, and finished strong with a 49–0 win over Uganda. The Lionesses scored 87 points, conceded 24, and had a +63 differential.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Uganda finished third with 5 points after beating Madagascar 24–20. However, they suffered heavy defeats to South Africa (62–7) and Kenya (49–0), scoring only 31 points in total while conceding 129, resulting in a –98 point differential.

Hosts Madagascar ended fourth with 1 point, having lost all three of their matches. Despite a spirited display in their close loss to Uganda, they were overpowered by Kenya and South Africa, finishing with 42 points for, 113 against, and a –71 point differential.
