Zimbabwe Sables name squad for Zambia ahead of Zambezi clash

The Zimbabwe Sables have named a 23-man squad ahead of their second-leg clash against the Zambia Copper Eagles in the ‘Battle of the Zambezi’, scheduled for this Saturday, May 31, at the Leopards Hill Polocrosse Club in Lusaka with kick-off set for 15:30.

The squad announcement comes just days after Zimbabwe launched their 2025 rugby campaign with an emphatic 70-15 victory over Zambia in the first leg played at Harare Sports Club.

Tyran Fagan, Simba Mandiona, and Bornwell Gwinji will lead the forward pack.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

David Makamba and Nyasha Shiripinda will take charge of the second row. Dylan Utete and Brian Nyaude will be on the flanks with vice-captain Aiden Burnett being the number 8.

Captain Hilton Mudariki will be at the scrum-half supported by Lenience Tambwera at flyhalf. The wings will have Edward Siguake and Trevor Gurwe with Kudzai Mashawi and Dion Munemo partnering in the midfield before Takudzwa Musingwini completing the squad at fullback.
