Menengai Oilers head coach Gibson Weru has opted for continuity, retaining the squad that eliminated KCB for Saturday’s Kenya Cup final against Kabras RFC.

The highly anticipated final kicks off at 3:00 p.m. at the Kakamega Showground.

In the front row, Francis Atiti, Celestine Mboi, and former Kabras prop Vincent Mwikhali maintain their spots following a solid performance in the semi-finals.

Skipper Ibrahim Ayoo continues his second-row partnership with Charles Osgood, a duo that impressed in the last outing.

Another ex-Kabras player, Fortune Aturo, will start at blindside flanker, while Nelson Makokha features on the open side. Samuel Were remains at number eight, completing an unchanged back row.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Veteran Samson Onsomu retains his role at scrum-half, pairing with fly-half Samuel Mwaura. In the midfield, Samuel Ovwamu will face his former club Kabras alongside the ever-reliable Chrispine Shitundo.

Daniel Kipchirchir keeps his place on the left wing, preferred over top try-scorer Beldad Ogeta.

On the right wing, Timothy Omela—who has racked up 185 points this season—gets the nod. Abutwalib Wesonga continues at fullback.

Two more former Kabras players, Destrious Ifedha and Victor Were, are also named in the matchday squad.

The Oilers bench features a 6-2 split between forwards and backs, with Amos Obae included as the sixth forward. Andrew Odero and Kenya Sevens star John Okoth provide cover in the backs.
