Mwamba RFC captain Bruce Shiemi has issued a passionate statement following the team’s relegation from the Kenya Cup, promising a strong comeback.
In the message addressed to the Mwamba family, Shiemi expressed deep disappointment but emphasized the team’s resilience and it’s fighting will through out the years.
“This is a tough moment for all of us. We fought, we gave our all, but in the end, it wasn’t enough,” he said.

Despite the setback, Shiemi praised his teammates for their commitment and sacrifice throughout the season. He also acknowledged the unwavering support from fans, who stood by the team through every challenge.
Looking ahead, Mwamba RFC is determined to bounce back. “This is not the end. We will rebuild, we will fight, and we will be back. The journey back to the Kenya Cup begins now,” he assured.
Mwamba RFC, has been playing in the league for almost half a century now having been formed in 1977 and winning it’s first and only Kenya Cup title in 1983.
The club now turns its focus to reclaiming its place in the Kenya Cup league after being relegated to play in the KRU Championship league.
