Kabras RFC biggest scoreline of the year whipping Kisumu RFC 137-7 in the final Kenya Cup match of year at Kakamega Showground.
The Sugarmen scored just seconds after the kickoff whistle when Patrick Lumumba rose high to collect a well floated kickoff by Jone Kubu.
Kabras RFC opener
From the ruck, Walter Okoth combined well with Jone Kubu to set up debutant Jackson Siketi for the first try. Jone Kubu added the extras for 7-0 lead.
The miller’s continued to pile more pressure to Kisumu and the scores quicky turned 21-0, as Griffin Chao, making ammends to his earlier error when he failed to ground the ball at the try box, and Walter Okoth went over the whitewash. Jone Kubu converted both tries.
Hillary Salano grabbed Kabras bonus point try minutes later, when he sold a dummy to Kisumu’s defence to score. Jone Kubu made it 4 in 4 when beat the angle to add the extras, the scores now reading 28-0.
Jone Kubu who was having a brilliant afternoon turned scorer when he caught Kisumu’s defence napping to race from his own 22, linking up up with Roy Maruti to score. He converted his own try to send the scores to 35-0.
Grffin Chao, grabbing his second try and Walter Okoth, entering the scoresheet for the first time, added Kabras sixth and seventh try, as Kabras continued to add more points to their tally. Kubu missed Griffin’s try conversion but bounced back to convert Walter’s try, the scores now reading 48-0.
Two tries from Griffin Chao and Alvin Mutachi ensured Kabras went into the break with arguably their biggest lead in a Kenya Cup at halftime, with 75-0 lead.

Griffin Chao cemented his man of the match status when he scored two tries in two minutes in the early minutes of the second half, stretching his tally to six tries in the game. Jone Kubu missed both conversions as the scored turned to 85-0.
Jone Kubu grabbed his hatrick minutes later when once again showed brilliant skills to step and score meters of the posts. He converted his own try to stretch Kabras lead to 92-0.
Chao made it seven tries in one game as he combined well with Roy Maruti, to score deep in the corner. Jone Kubu once again missed the extras as the scores read 97-0, Kabras lead.
Patrick Lumumba entered the score sheet for the first minutes later, when he bumped tackles to score at the corner. Jone Kubu added the extras as the scores turned to 104-0.
Kisumu would grabbed a try of their own when they caught Kabras defence napping from a quick lineout to score. They added the extras as the scores now turned 104-7
Pouring scores
The scores just kept pouring as Kubu grabbed his fourth try of the game when stepped his markers dancing his way from his own half to race and score. He converted his try to send Kabras into a 111-7 lead.
Collins Indeche, substitute Humphrey Asiligwa and Mutachi would add three converted tries in the dying three minutes of the game to end the 137-7 as Kabras grabbed their third consecutive win.
