Kenya Cup side Kenya Harlequin have received a major boost with the return of experienced forward Emmanuel Mavala ahead of their match against Blak Blad, set to kick off at 2:00 PM at Impala Club.

Mavala, who joined Quins in 2020, is set to make his first appearance since 2021.

During his time away from rugby, he excelled in crossfit, winning the Fittest Man title twice. He has been named on the bench for this weekend’s clash, alongside Joshua Chisanga, who will make his second appearance of the season after featuring in the win over Nakuru RFC.

Ezra Omondi is also poised to make his debut for the Ngong Road-based side from the bench.

In the starting lineup, Head Coach Paul Murunga has retained the front row trio of Mike Mugo, Jeff Kiragu, and Mohammed Khaider, who impressed against Nakuru RFC.

Bill Abuom will partner Frank Aduda in the second row, with Aduda replacing Ben Onyango.

The back row sees the return of Kenyan international Herman Humwa, who joins Chalton Mokua and captain Sheldon Kahi.

Paul Mutsami and Wiseman Aganya retain their places in the midfield. Charles Kinyanjui shifts to the left wing, while Leeon Nyang comes in on the right. Arnold Onzere will start at fullback for the first time this season.

Kenya Harlequin will look to build on their momentum and secure another victory as they face a resilient Blak Blad side.
