Kisii RFC have sealed their nationwide season opener match after managing a bonus point win 36-10 over newcomers Kisii Polytechnic to set their pace high in the Western region nationwide league.

Kisii RFC kicked off the new season in style, securing an impressive 36-10 win over newcomers Kisii Polytechnic in their season opener. The hosts dominated the match, defending their home ground with a powerful display of skill and teamwork.
Kisii’s standout player was Shown Calvin, who scored a brace of tries, while Denish Okumu, Victor Gichana, and Clifford Nyabwari each crossed the try line to make their mark on the scoreboard in the season’s first match.
In the additional points, Clifford Nyabwari added to the tally by converting his own try, and Tom Nyamboque contributed with three successful conversions and a penalty, ensuring Kisii RFC sealed their first home victory of the season.
Bonus point victories
In the Nairobi region varsity clubs, African Nazarene managed to bag their bonus point after a walk-over by the Technical University of Kenya alongside KCA University who managed their first away victory 29-07 against Machakos University, Kenya Police 31-07 win against hosts Lukenya University, NYS Spades 45-05 away win against MKU Nairobi and the 30-00 home ground win for the Administration Police against Mean Machine II.
The community club opening matches saw Makueni Rugby humbling hosts Masaku Rugby 65-0 as Stallions rugby snatched their first homeground win of 43-0 against Rongai Morans.
Ngong Warriors also managed to bag their bonus point after managing a home soil pride 60-03 win over Ruaka Eagles while Swara RFC bagged a 28-0 win over Dagoretti Bulldogs.
In Central region Kenya Prisons and Embu RFC took it to heart as they deverstated their opponents to take home the bonus points.
in Rift Valley, Kabarak University, Egerton Wasps and Kitale Polytechnic bagged the bonus points after being awarded walk-overs by their respective opponents.
In the Western Region, Sigalagala, Shamberere TTI, Kisii RFC, Maseno RFC and Kisii Kifaru bagged bonus points in their season oppener matches.
In the Coastal region, NYS Eagles bagged their points after a walk-over by Gede RFC.
