7s captain in to boost Uganda Rugby Cranes as matchday squad Elgon Cup is revealed

Uganda Rugby Cranes head coach Fred Mudoola has announced a revamped squad for the Elgon Cup decider against Kenya Simbas, scheduled for Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Kings Park, Bweyogerere.

The squad sees the inclusion of 7s captain Ian Munyani and his teammate Timothy Kisiga, as well as Michael Otto and Ammanuel Kiyaga.

Captain Bron Oketayot will miss the match due to concussion protocol, with Edward Emiemu, Pool Kalungi, and Haruna Muhammad also out.

In the forward pack, Sydney Gongodyo steps in to replace Oketayot on the open-side flank.

Moses Zziwa remains at blindside flanker, while Pius Ogena continues in the number eight role.

The tight five sees no changes, with Charles Uhuru and Eliphaz Emong starting as locks and Santos Ssenteza, Jude Jjuko, and Asuman Mugerwa forming the front row.

Conrad Wanyama will lead the team from scrum half, partnering with Aaron Ofwoyrwoth at the fly half.

Eric Mulamula and Innocent Gwokto occupy the centre positions, while the back three comprise Robin Philip Odrua, Shakim Ssembusi, and Joseph Aredo.
