Former Kenya Cup side Western Bulls have called for financial support from wellwishers to raise Ksh924,000 as they prepare for the 2024/25 KRU Championship.
According to a statement by the club, they need help from the community to help them raise funds that will cover essential expenses like travel and matchday logistics. The contributions can be made by pay bill number 522533, account number 1131768175.

“Our Bulls are gearing up for an epic KRU Championship 2024/25 season but we need your support to make it happen! As we prepare for the new challenges ahead, we’re reaching out to our community to help us raise funds to cover essential expenses like travel and matchday logistics. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us bring our A-game and keep the Bulls’ sprint alive. In a statement from their Chairman Martin Musonye, the club is keen to honour all matches this season and there is an option to sponsor the entire budget or chose a specific trip to sponsor.
“I hope this letter finds you well, I am writing on behalf of the Western Bulls Rugby Club, a committed rugby team based in Kakamega County. We are seeking financial support to help us achieve success in the upcoming 2024-2025 season of the Kenya Rugby Championship.

“Our goal is to excel in both home and away games, ultimately aiming for promotion to the Kenya Cup, the pinnacle of Kenya rugby. Since our establishment in 2012, the Western Bulls Rugby Club has been dedicated to nurturing rugby talent and promoting sportsmanship within our community. Through our journey, we have seen tremendous growth in both the number and skill of our players, strengthening to resolve to reach new heights.
“To make this possible, we are reaching out to request funding for our outlined season budget, which totals Ksh. 924,000. Supporters are welcome to contribute to the budget or choose specific items according to their preference and capacity. The breakdown of our primary budget items has been annexed with this letter. We would be deeply grateful if you could support us in any capacity, whether by sponsoring the entire budget or a specific segment. Your contribution will play a significant role in helping our players pursue their passion and bring pride to Kakamega County. Thank you for considering this request, and we look forward to a positive response,” the letter read.
Last season, they were eliminated from the KRU Championship playoffs following a loss to Impala. Despite dishing out a walkover and losing points against MMUST, they finished fifth with 22 points.
