Kenya Legends secured a hard-fought 19-14 victory over UK Tritons in a thrilling curtain-raiser for the Elgon Cup at RFUEA Grounds.
The Tritons, who are on an East African tour, were determined to end their campaign with a win after previous losses to Tanzania and Uganda.
The Kenyan Legends, unbeaten in their last four matches against Uganda and back-to-back Legends Cup champions, faced the Tritons without key players Victor Sudi, Tito Oduk, Humphrey Kayange, Collins Injera, Oliver Mangeni, and Solomon Munyua but managed to hold firm for the win.
The Legends opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game with Steve Odhiambo breaking through for the first try. However, the Tritons quickly responded with a well-timed offload leading to a converted try, putting them ahead 7-5.

Kenyan skipper Eddie Omondi then capitalized off a ruck, crossing over to restore a 12-7 lead at halftime.
The second half saw the Tritons reclaim the lead after a series of pick-and-go phases led to a converted try, bringing the score to 14-12.
But the Legends had the final say, with Felix Osiemo crossing the try line for a decisive score, which was converted to seal a 19-14 victory.
