The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has confirmed that the 2024 Elgon Cup opener between Kenya’s Simbas and Uganda’s Cranes will take place at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on Saturday, November 9.
This marks a return to RFUEA Grounds after last year’s second leg was held at Kisumu’s Jomo Kenyatta Stadium. Ticket prices for the highly anticipated clash have been set at Ksh 1,000 for VIP seats, while regular tickets are priced at Ksh 500. Fans can purchase tickets online at tikohub.co.ke.

The Elgon Cup series, contested annually between Kenya and Uganda, will continue with a second leg on Saturday, November 16, in Kampala, Uganda. This decision came after a consultative meeting between KRU and the Uganda Rugby Union (URU).
Kenya Simbas currently hold the Elgon Cup title, having triumphed 20-13 in last year’s second leg in Kisumu, securing a 40-13 aggregate victory. This win followed a close 21-20 loss to Uganda in the first leg, ultimately marking Kenya’s fifth consecutive Elgon Cup win.
