Uganda, Kenya Lionesses and Barbarians extend their fine run at Safari 7s day 2

Defending champions Uganda lady cranes, Kenya Lionesses and safari 7s debutants Coasta Blanca Barbarians registered big wins extending their fine run on day two of the women’s category of the 2024 Safari 7s at Machakos Stadium.

Kenya Lionesses defeated Shogun 34-00 in the first match of the day in the ladies category. Freshia Oduor drew first blood for the Lionesses with a left corner try before speeding again this time on the right corner but the conversion was unsuccessful bringing the scores to 12-00 in favour of the Lionesses at halftime.

As the second half unfolded Oduor stepped inside and beat Markers to complete a hattrick extending Lioness’s lead to 17-00, Faith Livoi then offloaded to supporting Diana Kemunto for the fourth try but the conversion was unsuccessful.

Edith Nariaka sealed the Lionesses win with two successive tries making matters 34-00 at full-time handing Shogun their second defeat of the tournament.
