Kenya Rugby Union has confirmed that the 2024 Safari 7s tournament will take place in Machakos County, marking a shift from its traditional venue in Nairobi.
The tournament will be held at Machakos Stadium from October 11-13, 2024.

The Union cited Machakos as an ideal venue due to its atmosphere and the ease of access to accommodation and other essential services for both fans and players.
In their announcement, they emphasized the new experience this location brings to the prestigious event.
“Africa’s premier sevens rugby tournament, Safari Sevens, returns this year at Machakos Stadium from October 11-13. This edition promises an elevated experience for fans, players, and the rugby fraternity by moving away from the traditional Nairobi setting. Machakos is the ideal host, offering a contemporary ambiance and convenience for fans and players with ample accommodation and services,” the Union stated.
Ticket prices have also been announced, with advanced regular tickets priced at Ksh 500 per day and VIP advanced tickets at Ksh 1000 per day.

Advanced season tickets are Ksh 1000 for regular and Ksh 2000 for VIP. Tickets at the gate will be slightly higher, with regular tickets selling for Ksh 750 and VIP tickets for Ksh 1500.
“The advance regular ticket prices will retail at 500/= per day as the VIP advance ticket will sell at 1000/= per day.The advance regular season ticket will sell at One thousand shillings while the advance VIP season ticket will sell at 2000 shillings. Regular ticket prices will sell at seven hundred and fifty shillings at the gate while VIP tickets will sell at 1500/= at the gate.
