KCB Rugby have made three changes to their squad ahead of the Prinsloo 7s, set to take place at Nakuru Athletic Club this weekend.

Former Kenya Harlequin forward Felix Makokha is set to make his first appearance for the squad. Makokha, who also played for Kabras RFC, is one of the four players brought in to fill the gaps left by Samuel Asati, Floyd Wabwire, and Michael Wamalwa, who has been sidelined until he adheres to the Graduated Return to Play (GRTP) protocols.

KCB Rugby recall Amunga

Elvis Namusasi and Levy Amunga have been recalled to the squad after missing the last two outings in Nairobi and Mombasa.

The club has also retained key players, including Elvis Olukusi, Jacob Ojee, and Lionel Ajeliti, as well as Kabeberi 7s player of the final Emmanuel Opondo and Austin Sikutwa, who was the club’s top scorer over the weekend.

Davis Nyaundi and Tyson Maina, who made their debuts in Kabeberi, are set to conclude the season, while Elphas Adunga and Festus Shiasi are also included in the squad heading to Nakuru.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

KCB Rugby, currently sitting on 86 points, needs a near-perfect outcome at the Prinsloo 7s to retain their National 7s Circuit title.

If KCB wins the Prinsloo 7s, they can finish with 108 points. For KCB to win the title, Quins must finish no higher than the fifth-place semi-finals (107 points or less), and Kabras must not win the tournament. Should Kabras win the Prinsloo 7s, KCB will be out of contention for the title.

If Quins fail to make the quarter-finals, KCB must outscore Kabras by at least three points to secure the title.
