Mang’u School rugby are the Central Region Rugby 15s Champions following a 12-09 victory over Alliance High School in Thika on Friday.
In the finals, Greg Karonji was the only try scorer, managing a brace courtesy of maul set pieces with a single successful conversion. Mang’u lead courtesy of Karonji’s try which came off a rolling maul.
Alliance pulled back thanks to three successive penalties to lead 9-5. Another maul saw Karonji, a hooker dot the winning try which was converted by Dismus Matibe for a 12-9 win. The win saw them become the first school to qualify for the Nationals.

In the semi-finals, Mang’u High School secured a 12-00 win over Kiarithaini to proceed to the finals while Alliance High secured a strong dominating 22-08 win over Njumbi Boys.
The semis saw Peter Mbugua and Jeff Mburu managing tries which saw one being converted by Dismus Matibe.
