The Western Region rugby fraternity is gearing up for a thrilling weekend as Bingwa Fest 2.0 10s takes centre stage from January 23 to 25, 2026
The tournament will kick off on Friday and Saturday at The Bull Ring (venue to be confirmed) before concluding on Sunday at the Mumias Complex.
A total of 16 men’s teams have confirmed participation, highlighting the depth of rugby talent across Western Kenya. Among the standout sides expected to challenge for honours are Western Bulls, Masinde Muliro University, Kakamega Dragons, Webuye Rugby, and Bungoma Rugby, alongside strong outfits like Busia Border Rucks, Bukembe Rugby, and Kibabii University.

The women’s category will see eight teams battle it out, with Blackrock Rugby, Masinde Muliro University, and Kisii Rugby among the sides tipped to make deep runs in the competition. Also in the mix are Shambere Polytechnic, Lugulu Development, Kisiwa Polytechnic, Shieywe Rugby, and Mwira Rugby.
Bingwa Fest 2.0 10s is expected to attract fans from across Western Kenya, combining community vibes with elite grassroots competition. With short-format 10s rugby on offer.
