Uganda Cranes and Costa Blanca Barbarians are the latest teams to confirm their participation in the 2025 Safari 7s.

The Ugandans, regular participants in the tournament, will once again field both men’s and women’s squads, while Women’s category defending Champions Costa Blanca Barbarians from Spain return after featuring in last year’s edition.

The Kenya Rugby Union confirmed the participation of both teams through statements released on Tuesday.

“Our noisy neighbours from across Lake Victoria have confirmed their participation in the #2025Safari7s. Uganda Rugby will be competing in both the men’s and women’s categories,” the Union announced.

“The defending champions of the #Safari7s women’s category, Costa Blanca Barbarians, have confirmed their participation in the #2025Safari7s. Will they defend their title?” the statement added.

Uganda’s participation comes just weeks after the conclusion of the National 7s Circuit. Their men’s side will join Shujaa, Morans, French Renegades, Shogun Rugby, and KCB Rugby in the men’s competition.

The women’s category will now feature Kenya Lionesses 1 and 2, Uganda, Shogun, Tunisia, and defending champions Costa Blanca Barbarians.
