The 2025 National Sevens Circuit has received a significant financial boost after gaming company SportPesa committed Ksh 15 million to sponsor this year’s edition of the tournament.
Now officially titled the 2025 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit, the competition is set to kick off this weekend with the Driftwood 7s at Mombasa Sports Club, running from 26 to 27 July.
Defending champions Kenya Harlequin will headline the 16 teams competing in the opening leg of the six-round circuit.
SportPesa returns as title sponsor for the third year in a row, maintaining their support for the 24th edition of the annual event.
Of the 15 Million, 3 million will go directly to the 6 host clubs, 6 Million will cover Live stream production costs. 2.3M will be used as the prize money for each leg as well as the overall winners.
Speaking during the announcement, SportPesa Marketing representative Willis Ochieng detailed how the sponsorship will directly benefit players and teams.

“Remember all this are player driven and it is issued in cash just go say thank you to the players then for the legs that have the ladies tournament will be seeing 70-30 for the winner and runner-up then the division two gets Ksh 50,000 so that’s around Ksh 325,000 for the tournaments that have the ladies tournament and 225,000 for the tournaments that don’t have the ladies tournaments.
“The overall gets Ksh 550,000 in total prize money but it’s Ksh 300,000, Ksh 150,000 and 100,000 for the 1st, 2nd and third,” stated Ochieng.
Last season, Kenya Harlequin took home Ksh 300,000 for winning the overall National 7s Circuit, with Kabras RFC and KCB Rugby pocketing Ksh 150,000 and Ksh 100,000 respectively for finishing second and third.
