After a successful start of the Nyanza Region 15s, which began on March 13th, 2025, the tournament will come to an end on Saturday, March 15th, with Kisii School and St Mary’s Yala.
The defending champions, Kisii School, dominated the matches from the group stage to the semifinals, where they faced Homabay County giants Agoro Sare, defeating them convincingly with a score of 21-0.
Kisii School showcased their strength, with Matrix Matangi scoring two penalties, while Jan Paulsen, Chaz Francis, and Hughes Ombasa landed tries that ensured their victory against Agoro Sare.
In another semifinal, St. Mary’s Yala, the Siaya County champions, narrowly defeated the newly emerging Kisumu giants, Nyabondo, with a final score of 6-5. Two three-pointers were enough for the Siaya County based school.

The playoff for third and fourth place will feature Nyabondo, who lost to St. Mary’s Yala in the semifinals 6-5, against the Homabay heroes, Agoro Sare, who also fell to Kisii School 21-0.
The final match will see the defending champions, Kisii School, go head to head against St. Mary’s Yala, the winner will advance to the nationals. This will be a repeat of last year’s final which Kisii School emerged victorious by securing a hard-fought 8-5 sudden-death triumph against a determined St. Mary’s Yala in the final showdown held at Kisumu Polytechnic.
