Kenya Lionesses have booked their spot in the Challenger Series 3 after securing a 17-0 win over South Africa to maintain their unbeaten streak.
Naomi Amuguni set the pace for the Lionesses, scoring the first try at the far right corner to give Kenya a 5-0 lead after a missed conversion.
The game remained balanced for the rest of the first half, with both teams displaying strong defensive efforts until halftime.
In the second half, Sharon Auma extended Kenya’s lead with a try between the posts, capitalizing on a well-timed pass from Ann Goretti. A successful conversion pushed the score to 12-0.

In the final minutes, Freshia Oduor added her name to the scoreboard with a third try, sealing a 17-0 victory for the Lionesses.
Kenya has now finished at the top of the table as the top-ranked eight men’s and women’s teams progress to the third and final tournament at the Henryk Reyman’s Municipal Stadium in Krakow on 11-12 April.
The four men’s and women’s teams with the most cumulative points gained across the three Challenger rounds will then qualify for the HSBC SVNS Play Off in Los Angeles on 3 – 4 May, where they will face the bottom four ranked teams from HSBC SVNS 2025 in a high-stakes promotion and relegation tournament with four coveted places in future SVNS at stake.
