Kabras RFC edged Nondies 7-3 in a frustrating encounter at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday afternoon.
Despite being restricted to just a first-half converted try, the Sugarmen stretched their winning streak against Nondies to 12 matches since their last loss in 2014.

They have now won nine matches in a row this season and now sit on 44 points, while Nondies gained a point, taking their total to 29 points.
Nondies started strongly, earning a three-pointer from Calvin Sheunda, and continued to frustrate Kabras for almost 20 minutes. After the water break, Kabras came back stronger, and Walter Okoth capitalized on a quick tap to dive over for the opening try in the left corner.
Ntabeni Dukisa, making his second appearance for Kabras, successfully converted from a tight angle, giving his side a 7-3 lead.
Nondies held firm, preventing Kabras from extending their lead, and their defense was resolute throughout the match.
Kabras came close to adding more points, but Bryceson Adaka’s try was ruled out for a double movement after he grounded the ball. The teams headed into the break with just four points separating them.

The second half saw Kabras struggle. They lost Adaka to a yellow card for 10 minutes and later Emmanuel Otieno was also sent to the sin bin.
Nondies continued to defend well, frustrating all of Kabras’ attempts to increase their lead as the referee calls went against them. In the closing stages, Nondies came close to scoring again but knocked on in the process.

In the end, Nondies’ defense held strong, and Kabras scraped through for a narrow 7-3 victory.
